058914120Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding a section numbered 18.2-259.2 as follows:
§ 18.2-259.2. Restitution for cleanup of illegal drug laboratory site.
The court, sentencing a defendant convicted of an offense under this article involving the manufacture of any controlled substance, shall (i) order the defendant to reimburse the United States, the Commonwealth or the locality for the costs incurred by the jurisdiction, as the case may be, for the cleanup associated with the illegal manufacture of any controlled substance by the defendant, and (ii) order restitution for any personal injury as a result of the operation or cleanup of the illegal laboratory.
