CHAPTER 592 An Act to amend the Code of Virginia by adding a section numbered 15.2-1416.1, relating to meetings of governing bodies. [H 2615] Approved March 22, 2005  

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1.  That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding a section numbered 15.2-1416.1 as follows:

§ 15.2-1416.1. Actions prior to convening of meeting.

During the time prior to the governing body's actual call to order or convening of business, any expressions by members of the governing body or members of the public shall be held consistent with the individual's First Amendment right of freedom of speech.
