JOINT CONFERENCE COMMITTEE REPORT

THIS REPORT WAS REJECTED BY THE HOUSE AND AGREED TO BY THE SENATE

We, the conferees, appointed by the respective bodies to consider and report upon the disagreeing vote on House Bill No. 1770, report as follows:

A.  We recommend that the Senate Amendments be rejected.

B.  We recommend that the engrossed bill be amended as follows to resolve the matters under disagreement.

     

    1. Line 36, engrossed, after     the fourth stanine on

      strike

        a battery of achievement tests which that have been approved by the Board of Education for use in the public schools

      insert

        a nationally normed standardized achievement test that has been approved by the Superintendent of Public Instruction

    2. Line 39, engrossed, after     growth and progress.

      strike

        The Department of Education shall maintain a list of achievement tests, evaluations, and assessments that satisfy the requirements of clauses (i) and (ii) of this subsection.

      insert

        The Superintendent of Public Instruction shall maintain a list of nationally norm-referenced achievement tests that satisfy the requirements of clause (i) of this subsection.
