SUMMARY AS INTRODUCED:

State cigarette tax increase; Center for Advanced Learning and Research in Danville Fund. Increases the state cigarette tax from 2.5 cents to 25 cents per pack. The revenues raised from the 25 cents per pack tax are to be distributed as follows: (i) 1.5 cents to the Center for Advanced Learning and Research in Danville Fund, (ii) 2.5 cents to the general fund, and (iii) 21 cents to Medicaid.
