SUMMARY AS PASSED: (all summaries)
Transient occupancy tax; Rockbridge County and the Cities of Lexington and Buena Vista. Authorizes an additional two percent transient occupancy tax to be imposed by the governing bodies in the County of Rockbridge and the Cities of Lexington and Buena Vista. Revenues collected from the tax shall be appropriated for the payment of principal and interest on promissory notes executed by the Virginia Horse Center Foundation or the Virginia Equine Center Foundation prior to January 1, 2004, that were part of an agreement for the Rockbridge Industrial Development Authority to issue bonds on behalf of or for improvements at the Virginia Horse Center Foundation, Virginia Equine Center Foundation, or the Virginia Equine Center. The tax may no longer be imposed after the final payment of principal and interest on all such notes.
