SUMMARY AS PASSED:

I-81 improvements. Encourages the Commonwealth Transportation Board and the Virginia Department of Transportation, upon completion of the 18-month NEPA environmental review, to consider various ways to address congestion and safety problems on Interstate 81. Some of the suggested improvements include the construction of truck climbing lanes and the placement and rotation of empty patrol vehicles in the median on I-81.

I-81 improvements; "truck-climbing" lanes. Memorializes the Commonwealth Transportation Board and the Virginia Department of Transportation to include construction of "truck climbing" lanes in their plans for widening and improving Interstate Route 81 in Virginia.
