SUMMARY AS INTRODUCED:
Study; qualifications for boards of visitors of the Commonwealth's public institutions of higher education; report. Establishes a joint subcommittee to study the feasibility and appropriateness of requiring qualifications of members of the boards of visitors of public institutions of higher education in Virginia. The joint subcommittee is charged to consider, among other things, qualifications and training requirements of boards of visitors in the Commonwealth and other states; the appointment and term requirements for boards of visitors in other states; the recommendations of the Governor's Blue Ribbon Commission on Higher Education; and such other issues as it deems necessary.
The joint subcommittee must submit its executive summary by the first day of the 2005 Regular Session of the General Assembly.
