SUMMARY AS INTRODUCED:
Juvenile alcohol offenses. Makes it clear that it is illegal for an underage person to consume alcoholic beverages as well as to purchase or possess them. The bill repeals the specific dispositional provision that allowed dismissal of a juvenile DUI if terms and conditions prescribed by the court were met. The bill also provides that a juvenile conviction for driving under the influence shall not be expunged, so that it can be used as a prior offense for the enhanced penalties for subsequent DUI convictions.
