SUMMARY AS ENACTED WITH GOVERNOR'S RECOMMENDATION: (all summaries)
Multiple DUI offenders; Trauma Center Fund. Establishes in the state treasury a special nonreverting fund to be known as the Trauma Center Fund. The Fund shall consist of any moneys paid into it by those who are convicted of two or more DUI-related offenses within 10 years and any moneys appropriated by the General Assembly. Any person so convicted must pay $50 to the Trauma Center Fund for the purpose of defraying the costs of providing emergency medical care to victims of automobile accidents attributable to alcohol or drug use. The Department of Health is to award and administer grants from the Fund to appropriate trauma centers based on written criteria that it develops.
