WHEREAS, Frederick F. Flemming, a School Board representative for and respected citizen of Leesburg, retired from the Loudoun County School Board on December 31, 2003; and

WHEREAS, Frederick F. Flemming earned his undergraduate degree in 1961 from the University of Maryland and master's degrees from Babson College and Southeastern University; and

WHEREAS, Frederick Flemming began his services to students at the Loudoun Campus of Northern Virginia Community College as an instructor in 1975; and

WHEREAS, Frederick Flemming served Loudoun County as a School Board representative from 1989 to 1993 and from 1999 to 2003; and

WHEREAS, Frederick Flemming was one of the founders of the Loudoun Education Foundation, the School/Business Partnership Executive Council, and the Vocational Education Foundation; and

WHEREAS, Frederick Flemming tirelessly supported these organizations in their efforts to expand opportunities for Loudoun County's public school students, including serving both as president and executive director of the Loudoun Education Foundation; and

WHEREAS, Frederick Flemming, through his selfless desire for quality schools in Loudoun County and his respect for all people, has spent the past 14 years of his life focused on the needs of schoolchildren and providing support for Loudoun County public schools' staff; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the Senate, the House of Delegates concurring, that the General Assembly acknowledge the outstanding contributions of Frederick F. Flemming to the Loudoun County public schools and to providing quality education to Loudoun's public school students; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the Senate prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Frederick F. Flemming as an expression of the General Assembly's admiration for his honorable and dedicated service to the Commonwealth and its citizens.
