SENATE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 178
Commending Fire Inspector Woodrow Earl Webb, Jr.

WHEREAS, on March 20, 2004, the Woman's Club of Williamsburg will sponsor the Police Officer and Firefighter of the Year Awards; and

WHEREAS, among the honorees is Fire Inspector Woodrow Earl Webb, Jr., of the Williamsburg Fire Department; and

WHEREAS, Inspector Webb is cited for his outstanding contributions to the education and protection of children of Williamsburg; and

WHEREAS, Inspector Webb has been instrumental in the development of the department's "Fourth Grade Program," which teaches fourth-grade students in their classrooms valuable lessons on safety situations, fire hazards, and exit drills in the home; and

WHEREAS, Inspector Webb is also credited for his role in the development of the Juvenile Firesetter Intervention Program, which has reached the level of the Juvenile Court System and is approved by the Williamsburg Human Services Department; and

WHEREAS, an exemplary officer and a dedicated community servant, Inspector Webb is a worthy recipient of this prestigious award; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the Senate, the House of Delegates concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend Fire Inspector Woodrow Earl Webb, Jr., for his outstanding service to the Williamsburg Fire Department; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the Senate prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Fire Inspector Woodrow Earl Webb, Jr., as an expression of the congratulations and best wishes of the General Assembly.
