HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 488
Commending Dwight Lineberry.

WHEREAS, Dwight Lineberry has lived in Carroll County all of his life, graduating as class president from Carroll County High School in 1971; and

WHEREAS, Dwight Lineberry attended lumber grading school in Memphis, Tennessee, graduated with honors, and began his career in the lumber business; and

WHEREAS, for 13 years, Dwight Lineberry worked for the National Hardwood Lumber Association in Memphis, Tennessee, teaching lumber grading courses; and

WHEREAS, Dwight Lineberry, now working for Independence Lumber, was diagnosed in March 2003 with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig's disease; and

WHEREAS, Dwight Lineberry, who attends the Church of Christ at Mt. Pisgah in Gambetta, is a dedicated husband and father; and

WHEREAS, highly respected in the lumber industry and the community, Dwight Lineberry is a very strong-willed man and a fighter, and along with his family, is working to increase public awareness of ALS and raise funds to help find a cure; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend Dwight Lineberry for his courageous battle against amyotrophic lateral sclerosis; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Dwight Lineberry as an expression of the General Assembly's admiration and support.
