2004 SESSION
049074424WHEREAS, Patricia Ann Kranz of Alexandria, a volunteer and a former clerk with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, died on February 13, 2004; and
WHEREAS, Patricia Kranz was a native Washingtonian and a graduate of Calvin Coolidge High School; and
WHEREAS, Patricia Kranz attended the University of Maryland, where in 1948 she was the first woman in the biology program; and
WHEREAS, an FBI clerk in the early 1950s, Patricia Kranz was a volunteer and trainer for the Alexandria Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts and received the Silver Fawn Award, the highest scouting award a woman volunteer can earn; and
WHEREAS, Patricia Kranz also volunteered for the Fairfax County Park Authority and the American Horticultural Society's River Farm in Alexandria; and
WHEREAS, Patricia Kranz will be missed by her loving family and by her countless friends, colleagues and admirers in the Alexandria community; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby note with great sadness the loss of an outstanding citizen of Alexandria, Patricia Ann Kranz; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Patricia Ann Kranz as an expression of the respect in which her memory is held by the members of the General Assembly.
