WHEREAS, the Vienna Raiders, a Vienna Youth Football team formed in August 2003, won the National Youth Football Championship in Daytona, Florida; and
WHEREAS, the Vienna Raiders, comprised of players ages 7, 8, and 9, competed in the Ankle Biter Division and went undefeated in winning the Fairfax County championship; and
WHEREAS, in the Thanksgiving tournament in Florida, the Vienna Raiders defeated teams from Georgia and Florida to win the national championship; and
WHEREAS, coached by David Hall and Mark Meanna, with the assistance of Tim Hecht, Keith Ashcraft, Eric Havens, and Mike Magnotti, the Vienna Raiders proudly represented Vienna, Fairfax County, and the Commonwealth in their victorious performance at the national tournament; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend the Vienna Raiders football team on its outstanding 2003 season; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to David Hall and Mark Meanna as an expression of the General Assembly's admiration for the championship season of the Vienna Raiders.
