047944216WHEREAS, Candice Nelson of Collinsville was named Virginia's 2003 Junior Miss at the March state competition in Salem; and
WHEREAS, Candice Nelson, Martinsville-Henry County's Junior Miss, represented the Commonwealth at the America's Junior Miss National Finals in Alabama; and
WHEREAS, in addition to winning the Virginia Junior Miss competition, Candice Nelson was chosen the winner for poise, for talent, and for scholastics; and
WHEREAS, a talented and versatile young woman, Candice Nelson won more than $5,000 in college scholarships at the Virginia Junior Miss competition; and
WHEREAS, Candice Nelson will prove an effective and popular representative of Martinsville, Henry County, and the Commonwealth during her year as the reigning Virginia Junior Miss; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly commend Candice Nelson on becoming Virginia's 2003 Junior Miss; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Candice Nelson as an expression of the congratulations and best wishes of the General Assembly.
