Commending Jake Grove.

WHEREAS, Jake Grove, a native of Bedford County and a graduate of Jefferson Forest High School, completed his career at Virginia Tech as one of the most decorated players in the history of Virginia Tech football; and

WHEREAS, a center on the Hokies football team, Jake Grove became one of only three Virginia Tech players ever to win unanimous All-America honors; and

WHEREAS, Jake Grove was named All-American by the Football Writers Association of America, the American Football Coaches Association, the Sporting News, the Walter Camp Football Foundation, and the Associated Press; and

WHEREAS, Jake Grove also won the Rimington Award, given annually to the best collegiate center in the nation; and

WHEREAS, an all-district and all-region player at Jefferson Forest, Jake Grove overcame injury at the beginning of his college career to become a dominant force on the Virginia Tech offensive line; and

WHEREAS, during his senior year in 2003, Jake Grove won nationwide acclaim and respect for his consistent excellence and unshakeable determination, qualities that will serve him well in the next stage of his career in the National Football League; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend Jake Grove on the completion of an exemplary career at Virginia Tech; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Jake Grove as an expression of the General Assembly's congratulations and best wishes for continued success.
