2004 SESSION
WHEREAS, James Patrick Burke of Ashburn, a prominent and widely respected member of the Loudoun County community, died on May 23, 2003; and
WHEREAS, a professional in the field of advertising research, James Patrick Burke was formerly research director for the Wall Street Journal, the National Observer, Barrons, The New Yorker, and U.S. News & World Report; and
WHEREAS, a native of Spring Lake, New Jersey, James Patrick Burke was a member of the Monsignor Baldwin Assembly of the Knights of Columbus in Brick Township, New Jersey, and a former state deputy of the New Jersey Knights of Columbus; and
WHEREAS, James Patrick Burke was the founding president of the Loudoun County Division I of the Ancient Order of the Hibernians and served as state membership director for the organization; and
WHEREAS, James Patrick Burke served as lector coordinator for St. Theresa's Church in Ashburn; and
WHEREAS, James Patrick Burke will be missed by his large and loving family and by his numerous friends, colleagues, and admirers in the Loudoun community; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly mourn the passing of a fine Virginian, James Patrick Burke; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of James Patrick Burke as an expression of the respect in which his memory is held by the members of the General Assembly.
