Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That § 53.1-107 of the Code of Virginia is amended and reenacted as follows:

§ 53.1-107. Organization of board; annual report.

The regional jail or jail farm board shall elect a chairman and secretary. Only a sheriff shall be eligible for election to the office of chairman.

The board shall submit annually to the participating political subdivisions a report showing its activities; a budget, which shall include all revenues, expenditures and employee compensation schedules; and other similar data.
