A BILL to amend the Code of Virginia by adding in Article 15 of Chapter 1 of Title 33.1 a section numbered 33.1-223.2:9, relating to imposition and collection of tolls adjusted to encourage travel during off-peak hours.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding in Article 15 of Chapter 1 of Title 33.1 a section numbered 33.1-223.2:9 as follows:

§ 33.1-223.2:9. Tolls may vary to encourage travel during off-peak hours.

In order to provide an incentive for motorists to travel at off-peak hours, wherever a toll is imposed and collected for the use of any highway, the amount of such toll may vary according to the time of day, day of the week, traffic volume, or any or all of these variables.
