2004 SESSION
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That § 1 of Chapter 809 of the Acts of Assembly of 1998 is amended and reenacted as follows:
§ 1. The consent of the Commonwealth is hereby given to such individuals or
company, and their successors and assigns, as may be granted the privilege by the
United States to maintain and operate the hotel presently known as the Chamberlin
Hotel at Fort Monroe, Virginia, to lease, sublease or use such structure for
hotel, senior housing facility with an assisted living component, business or
professional office space and an adjoining parking garage as deemed appropriate
by the operator of the hotel holding the privilege from the United States for a term up to
and including December 31, 2037 2087, hereby abridging and suspending for the
period of such term, the provision of the deed from the Commonwealth to the United States by which
such site would revert and revest in the Commonwealth.
2. That an emergency exists and this act is in force from its passage.
