SUMMARY AS INTRODUCED:

State and local employment benefits; group life insurance. Provides that the group life insurance benefit payable upon the death of certain retirees of the Virginia Retirement System, Judicial Retirement System, State Police Officers' Retirement System and political subdivisions and local school boards participating in the Virginia Retirement System shall equal no less than 100% of such retiree's annual salary immediately prior to his retirement. Current law provides that such benefit shall equal no less than 50% of the retiree's annual salary immediately prior to his retirement.
