SUMMARY AS ENACTED WITH GOVERNOR'S RECOMMENDATION:
Garnished wages protected by homestead exemption. Provides that an individual may protect garnished wages via the homestead exemption by filing a claim of homestead exemption any time after the garnishment summons is served on the employer, and that the court shall consider such exemption.

Garnished wages protected by homestead exemption. Provides that an individual may protect garnished wages via the homestead exemption by filing a claim of homestead exemption any time after the garnishment summons is served on the employer. Any such claim shall protect wages for the entire period of the garnishment, up to the limit of the claimed exemption. The amount protected from garnishment shall be applied to the limits on the homestead exemption.
