SUMMARY AS INTRODUCED:

Redevelopment and housing authorities; appointment. Provides that no city, after July 1, 2003, may appoint more than 1 member of city council, or other officer or employee of the city, as a commissioner of a redevelopment and housing authority. The bill provides that its provisions shall not be construed to affect existing appointments for which the terms have not expired. However, any new appointments made after July 1, 2003, shall be made in accordance with the bill.
