SUMMARY AS INTRODUCED:
Higher education; vegetation buffer zones. Requires the governing boards of each 4-year public institution of higher education, in entering into any contracts for construction or expansion projects on and after July 1, 2003, unless otherwise required by any applicable local zoning regulation or as may be otherwise required by agreement with the relevant local governing body, to include in any such contracts provisions ensuring the maintenance of a minimum buffer zone of trees, shrubs, or other vegetation of at least 100 feet in depth where such projects are adjacent to private communities that are zoned for single-family residential housing.
