SUMMARY AS PASSED:
Health; water quality analysis. Adds Warren and Goochland Counties to the list of localities that may, by ordinance, establish testing requirements for compliance with existing federal or state drinking water quality standards for building permit applicants that propose to use private ground water wells. This bill also authorizes any local governing body allowed to have such an ordinance that also has a well abandonment ordinance to require property owners to close and cap abandoned or inactive wells pursuant to such ordinance.

Adds Warren and Goochland Counties to the list of localities that may, by ordinance, establish testing requirements for compliance with state drinking water quality standards pursuant to 12-VAC-5-630 for building permit applicants that propose to use private ground water wells.
