SUMMARY AS INTRODUCED:
Physical therapist assistants; supervision. Authorizes a physical therapist assistant to perform his duties solely under the direction and control of a licensed physical therapist. Current law requires that a physical therapist assistant perform his duties under the direction and control of both a licensed physical therapist and the patient's physician. This provision is a remnant of the Board of Medicine's statutes that were in existence prior to the establishment of the separate health regulatory board for physical therapy.
