SENATE BILL NO. 1229 AMENDMENT IN THE NATURE OF A SUBSTITUTE (Proposed by the Senate Committee on Transportation on January 23, 2003) (Patron Prior to Substitute--Senator Williams) A BILL to amend the Code of Virginia by adding a section numbered 56-559.1, relating to waiver of certain fees when proposals are solicited by responsible public entities under the Public-Private Transportation Act of 1995.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding a section numbered 56-559.1 as follows:

§ 56-559.1. Waiver of application or submission fees when responsible public entity solicits proposals.

Whenever a responsible public entity solicits proposals for the construction of a transportation facility under this chapter, the responsible public entity shall waive any and all application or submission fees for proposals received in response to such solicitation.
