WHEREAS, Michael C. Martin, owner of Dudley Martin Chevrolet in Manassas, is the 2003 Time Magazine Quality Dealer of the Year Nominee for Virginia; and
WHEREAS, a native of Manassas, Mike Martin is the third generation of his family to run Dudley Martin Chevrolet; and
WHEREAS, an active and dedicated member of his community, Mike Martin has served on a wide array of local boards, commissions, and committees for many years; and
WHEREAS, Mike Martin was appointed to the Virginia Motor Vehicle Dealer Board in 1999 by Governor James S. Gilmore Ill, was reappointed by Governor Mark R. Warner, and currently serves as co-chairman of the board; and
WHEREAS, Mike Martin and Dudley Martin Chevrolet are dedicated to providing athletic opportunities to young men and women in their community and have sponsored and organized youth sports leagues; and
WHEREAS, Mike Martin is the third generation of his family to serve as a member of the board of directors of the Virginia Automobile Dealers Association; and
WHEREAS, Mike Martin was the second generation of his family to serve as chairman of the association and was elected to serve two terms as chairman, marking only the second time in the history of the association that a chairman was re-elected; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly commend Michael C. Martin on his selection as the 2003 Time Magazine Quality Dealer of the Year Nominee for Virginia; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Michael C. Martin as an expression of the General Assembly's congratulations and best wishes.
