2003 SESSION
WHEREAS, the Commonwealth Transportation Board is made up of 17 Virginia citizens, appointed by the Governor, who collectively make decisions that affect the daily lives of Virginians across the Commonwealth; and
WHEREAS, the Board, which meets monthly, is primarily responsible for locating the routes of Virginia's highways, approving construction contracts, creating traffic regulations, naming highways, and administering and allocating the Transportation Trust Fund; and
WHEREAS, the Commonwealth Transportation Board solicits and considers public comment on the matters before it; and
WHEREAS, from July 1, 1999, until the summer of 2002, Bryan E. Kornblau of Richmond served on the Commonwealth Transportation Board, representing the Richmond District; and
WHEREAS, Bryan E. Kornblau met the extraordinary demands and challenges of service on the Commonwealth Transportation Board for three years and rendered honorable service to the citizens of Virginia; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend Bryan E. Kornblau for his exemplary service on the Commonwealth Transportation Board; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Bryan E. Kornblau as an expression of the appreciation and gratitude of the General Assembly.
