Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding a section numbered 2.2-1839.1 as follows:

§ 2.2-1839.1. Teacher liability insurance program.

From such funds as may be appropriated and from such gifts, donations, grants, bequests, and other funds as may be received for such purpose, the Division shall establish and administer a liability insurance program for public school teachers in the Commonwealth. Such program shall include coverage for professional liability, reimbursement of attorney's fees for criminal defense, bail bonding, and assault-related personal property damage for classroom teachers.
