VIRGINIA ACTS OF ASSEMBLY -- CHAPTER An Act to amend Chapter 618 of the Acts of Assembly of 1981, which provided a charter for the Town of Vinton, by adding a section numbered 3.1.1, relating to employment. [H 2044] Approved

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That Chapter 618 of the Acts of Assembly of 1981 is amended by adding a section numbered 3.1.1 as follows:

§ 3.1.1. Holding other office.

Except as otherwise authorized by law, the mayor or a councilman shall not be eligible during his term of office, or for one year thereafter, for any compensated town employment. If appointed by the council to a board or commission, he may be compensated as a member.
