Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding in Article 6.1 of Chapter 16 of Title 15.2 a section numbered 15.2-1636.21 as follows:

§ 15.2-1636.21. Certain duties of the commissioner of the revenue and treasurer; extensions to complete work.

In the event that the Compensation Board grants an extension to a commissioner of the revenue of a county or city to complete assessments or other work of his office pertaining to real or personal property taxes, the Board shall grant a like extension to the treasurer of that county or city to complete the work of his office that is dependent on the work done by the commissioner of the revenue.
