CHAPTER 204 An Act to amend and reenact § 15.2-1508 of the Code of Virginia, relating to local employee bonuses. [H 2270] Approved March 16, 2003

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That § 15.2-1508 of the Code of Virginia is amended and reenacted as follows:

§ 15.2-1508. Bonuses for employees of local governments.

Notwithstanding any contrary provision of law, general or special, the governing body of any locality may provide for payment of monetary bonuses to its officers and employees for exceptional services rendered. The payment of a bonus shall be authorized by ordinance.
