SUMMARY AS INTRODUCED:
Study; effectiveness of mental health and substance abuse treatment services for offenders. Requests the Secretary of Public Safety, in conjunction with the Secretary of Health and Human Resources and the Secretary of Administration, to develop a plan, including the estimated cost, for the collection of data on treatment services provided to and needed by state responsible offenders and for the evaluation of the effectiveness of treatment services. This study is a recommendaiton of the Committee Studying Treatment Options for Offenders with Mental Illness or Substance Abuse Disorders (SJR 440, 2001).
