2002 SESSION
HB 703 Conclusions of treating physician shall be admissible as evidence.
Introduced by: Ward L. Armstrong | all patrons ... notes | add to my profiles
SUMMARY AS INTRODUCED:
Communications between physicians and patients. Provides that when the physical or mental condition of the patient is at issue in a civil action, a treating physician may testify to any conclusions the practitioner may have that are based upon his training, education, experience and observation of the patient's condition. Under current law, a physician may only testify regarding facts, which has created some confusion in the various courts of the Commonwealth. This bill allows the physician to state his conclusions, without testifying to pure opinions.
