SUMMARY AS INTRODUCED:
Children's Internet Protection; public libraries. Requires the library board or governing body of a library to select a technology for its computers that are accessible to children and have Internet access to filter or block Internet access through such computers to child pornography, obscenity and materials deemed harmful to juveniles as defined in Title 18.2. This bill requires the library board or governing body to certify compliance with these provisions to the Librarian of Virginia along with the filing of the acceptable use policy, which is already required.
