SUMMARY AS PASSED: (all summaries)

Denial of driver's license for truancy. Modifies the current statute regarding suspension of driver's licenses for truancy to authorize courts, upon a finding of a second or subsequent truancy offense, to order the denial of a driver's license for a period of one year or until the juvenile reaches the age of eighteen, whichever is longer, or delay the child's ability to apply for a driver's license for a period of one year following the date he reaches the age of sixteen and three months, as may be appropriate.

Under current law, the first such offense may warrant a 30-day denial or delay in license application.
