SUMMARY AS PASSED:
Election of Chief Justice by the justices of the Court. Changes the manner in which the Chief Justice is chosen to a majority vote of the justices as opposed to the ascension of the most senior justice. The bill applies to the next Chief Justice of the Supreme Court and does not affect the current Chief Justice or his term. This bill is identical to SB 138.
