SUMMARY AS PASSED: (all summaries)
Tuition and fees charged in-state undergraduate students. Repeals identical, obsolete Code sections that directed the governing body of each institution of higher education to reduce the tuition and mandatory educational and general fees in effect on June 30, 1999, for in-state undergraduate students by 20 percent for the year beginning July 1, 1999, and ending June 30, 2000. Following such reduction, the Governor was to include, in each budget submitted to the General Assembly, sufficient funds to reimburse each public institution of higher education for the reduced tuition and mandatory fees. This bill is a recommendation of the Virginia Code Commission.
