SUMMARY AS INTRODUCED:

Sales and use tax; rate increase. Increases the state sales and use tax one percent from 3.5 percent to 4.5 percent. The one-percent increase will be distributed to counties and cities with revenues generated by one-half percent distributed based on school age population and one-half percent distributed based on point of sale. Continued to 2003.
