WHEREAS, on September 11, 2001, terrorists launched an inexcusable attack on the United States, causing great destruction and horrible human suffering in New York, Virginia, and Pennsylvania; and

WHEREAS, the attack had a devastating effect in Virginia, home of the Pentagon and of many of the personnel, military and civilian, who served there; and

WHEREAS, among the victims of the Pentagon attack was Debbie Ramsaur of Annandale, a civilian employee in the Pentagon's Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff for Personnel; and

WHEREAS, a native of Rochester, New York, Debbie Ramsaur, married and the mother of two young children, had worked at the Pentagon for two years, following 12 years of service with the United States Army in Germany; and

WHEREAS, Debbie Ramsaur was an active member of the Sleepy Hollow Woods Civic Association and gave generously of her time and talents to the Belvedere Parent Teacher Association; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the Senate, the House of Delegates concurring, That the General Assembly hereby note with great sadness the loss of Debbie Ramsaur, an innocent victim of the September 11 terrorist attacks on the United States; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the Senate prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Debbie Ramsaur as an expression of the heartfelt condolences of the General Assembly of Virginia.
