On the death of Diane Hale-McKinzy.

WHEREAS, on September 11, 2001, terrorists launched a violent attack on the United States, causing great destruction and horrible human suffering in New York, Virginia, and Pennsylvania; and

WHEREAS, the attack had a devastating effect in Virginia, home of the Pentagon and of many of the personnel, military and civilian, who served there; and

WHEREAS, among the victims of the Pentagon attack was Diane Hale-McKinzy of Alexandria, a civilian employee in the Pentagon; and

WHEREAS, Diane Hale-McKinzy was a civilian Army employee who worked in the Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations; and

WHEREAS, Diane Hale-McKinzy was married and the mother of a young daughter; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly note with sadness the loss of Diane Hale-McKinzy, an innocent victim of the September 11 terrorist attacks on the United States; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Diane Hale-McKinzy as an expression of the heartfelt condolences of the General Assembly of Virginia.
