WHEREAS, on September 11, 2001, terrorists launched a violent attack on the United States, causing great destruction and horrible human suffering in New York, Virginia, and Pennsylvania; and

WHEREAS, the attack had a devastating effect in Virginia, home of the Pentagon and of many of the personnel, military and civilian, who served there; and

WHEREAS, among the victims of the Pentagon attack was Sandra White of Prince William County, an Army civilian employee at the Pentagon; and

WHEREAS, for 18 years the wife of retired Army officer Oscar White, Sandra White was the devoted mother of two sons, Oscar, 17, and Jonathan, 15; and

WHEREAS, Sandra White and her close-knit family regularly attended First Mount Zion Baptist Church in Dumfries; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly note with sadness the loss of Sandra White, an innocent victim of the September 11 terrorist attacks on the United States; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Sandra White as an expression of the heartfelt condolences of the General Assembly of Virginia.
