Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. § 1. That upon the redemption and retirement of all outstanding bonded indebtedness and other obligations of the Richmond Metropolitan Authority, all ownership and control of highway facilities vested in the Richmond Metropolitan Authority pursuant to § 33.1-320 of the Code of Virginia shall terminate and all control and ownership of such facilities shall be transferred to the Commonwealth and the Virginia Department of Transportation shall be responsible for the operation and maintenance of the facilities.
