Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That § 2 of Chapter 537 of the Acts of Assembly of 1975, as amended by Chapter 72 of the Acts of Assembly of 1976, is amended and reenacted as follows:
§ 2. The political subdivisions that participate in and become members of The
Capital Region Airport Commission, hereinafter referred to as the "Commission",
shall be entitled to membership on the Commission as follows: four members from
the city of Richmond, four members from the county of Henrico, three members
from the county of Chesterfield, two members from the county of Hanover, one
member from the City of Petersburg, and one member from any other participating
political subdivisionthe County of Dinwiddie. The members shall be appointed
by the governing bodies thereof and the original appointment of members shall
be for terms as follows: from the city of Richmond, three years; and from the
counties and town, two years. Thereafter all All appointments shall be for
four-year terms, except appointments to fill vacancies which shall be for the unexpired terms.
The governing bodies of participating political subdivisions may appoint as
their representatives to the Commission members of their respective governing
bodies. The governing body appointing any member may remove such member at any
time and appoint a successor. The Commission shall have the power to elect its
chairman, and to adopt rules and regulations for its own procedure and
government. The members of the Commission so appointed shall constitute the
Commission, and the powers of such Commission shall be vested in and exercised
by the members in office from time to time. A majority of the members in
office shall constitute a quorum. A member of the Commission shall constitute
an officer of the Commission.
The governing body of any political subdivision participating in the Commission may compensate each of its members on the Commission in an amount not to exceed three thousand dollars annually.
