Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding a section numbered 46.2-1224.2 as follows:
§ 46.2-1224.2. Local ordinances may prohibit parking of certain vehicles.
The governing body of any county, city, or town may by regulation prohibit the parking of any commercial vehicle, as defined by § 46.2-341.4, in such a location or in such a manner as to (i) interfere with traffic safety by blocking motorists' view of approaching cross-traffic at intersections, (ii) impede the ability of pedestrians or motorists to see approaching traffic at a sufficient distance to prevent collisions, or (iii) reduce the space available for traffic attempting to pass the parked vehicle to such a degree that passing or attempting to pass the parked vehicle is either impossible or unsafe. Any such ordinance may provide for the towing of vehicles parked in violation of any of its provisions. Any violation of the provisions of any such ordinance shall constitute a traffic infraction.
