Increasing the membership of the Hampton Roads Third Crossing Bridge-Tunnel Commission.

WHEREAS, the Hampton Roads Third Crossing Bridge-Tunnel Commission was created by House Joint Resolution No. 125, approved by the 2000 Regular Session of the General Assembly; and

WHEREAS, events unforeseen at the time of the approval of House Joint Resolution No. 125 (2000), make it desirable and practical to increase the membership of that Commission beyond its original composition through the addition of one member of the Senate; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the Senate, the House of Delegates concurring, That the membership of the Hampton Roads Third Crossing Bridge-Tunnel Commission, established by House Joint Resolution No. 125 of the 2000 Regular Session be increased to allow the appointment of a total of 18 members, with seven members of the House of Delegates and five members of the Senate, rather than the four members of the Senate provided for in House Joint Resolution No. 125. Such additional member shall be appointed by the Senate Committee on Privileges and Elections, giving due consideration to members of the Senate who had prior service on the Commission as members of the House of Delegates.
