SUMMARY AS PASSED: (all summaries)

Virginia Retirement System; coordination of benefits. Provides for the Board of Trustees of the Virginia Retirement System to jointly develop guidelines and procedures with the Department of Human Resource Management to coordinate benefits for the Virginia Sickness and Disability Program administered by the Virginia Retirement System and the Workers’ Compensation Program administered by the Department of Human Resource Management. Current law requires the Board to coordinate benefits with the Division of Risk Management of the Department of Treasury. Under legislation passed in the 2000 Session of the General Assembly, however, the administration of the Worker’s Compensation Program was transferred from the Division of Risk Management to the Department of Human Resource Management. This bill is identical to HB 1924.
