SUMMARY AS INTRODUCED:

Virginia Retirement System; prior service credit. Permits state employees, for retirement benefit purposes, to purchase up to two years of prior service credit for service in a full-time hourly wage position with the Commonwealth prior to July 1, 1988. The cost to purchase twelve months of service is five percent of his present annual compensation or five percent of the average of his highest three years of compensation, whichever is greater.
