SUMMARY AS PASSED: (all summaries)
Establishes a Law-Enforcement Accreditation Center within the Department of Criminal Justice Services. The Center may, in cooperation within Virginia law-enforcement agencies, provide technical assistance and administrative support, including staffing, for the establishment of voluntary accreditation standards. The Center may provide accreditation assistance and training, resource material, and research methods and procedures that will assist the Virginia law-enforcement community in efforts to obtain accreditation status. Any state funding for such Center shall be subject to approval of the General Assembly.
